97 PTS ~ Jeb Dunnuck

The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Fairchild Sigaro comes all from Pritchard Hill fruit and is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 22 months in 95% new barrels. This brilliant wine has a deep purple hue as well as a gorgeous array of cassis and blackcurrant-like fruits interwoven with darker chocolate, graphite, and espresso-like nuances. It’s full-bodied, concentrated, has ample tannins, and a serious, age-worthy, incredibly impressive profile. Hide bottles for 4-6 years if you can. The tannins here are world-class.

The 2019 Fairchild Sigaro Cabernet Sauvignon coming from a site on Pritchard Hill, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Fairchild Sigaro is one heck of a stunning wine, bringing full-bodied richness and depth paired with a rare balance of freshness, purity, and elegance. Cassis, darker currants, chocolate, and spice are just some of the nuances. It’s a beautifully put together Cabernet Sauvignon to drink over the coming two decades or more. Drink 2022-2042

2018 Sigaro

96 PTS ~ Jeb Dunnuck

The 2018 Fairchild Sigaro is all Cabernet Sauvignon coming from Pritchard Hill and was aged 22 months in new French oak. Crème de cassis, graphite, dark chocolate, and tobacco notes give way to a full-bodied, polished, incredibly elegant 2018 that does everything right. Concentrated, rich, and powerful, yet still weightless, it's going to cruise for 20 years. Drink 2021-2041

98 PTS ~ Antonio Galloni

Lawrence Fairchild's 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Sigaro is fabulous. Silky and beautifully layered in the glass, the 2018 builds with striking red berry fruit, mocha, blood orange, mint, spice and wild flowers. All the elements are so nicely balanced in a suave, polished Cabernet that will drink well right out of the gate. The Sigaro is an undeniably sexy wine. Don't miss it. Drink 2025-2043

2017 Sigaro

95 PTS ~ Jeb Dunnuck

The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Fairchild Sigaro comes from a site on Pritchard Hill and spent 22 months in new French oak. Its vivid purple color is followed by a plush, sexy, seamless wine that has loads of oomph in its blackcurrants, toasted spice, graphite, and dusty earth-like aromas and flavors. It's a big, rich, powerful wine that has more texture and opulence than most in the vintage.
Drink 2024-2044.

2016 Sigaro

98 PTS ~ Jeb Dunnuck

Also thrilling, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Fairchild Sigaro comes from a site north of Lake Hennessey and is 100% clone 4 Cabernet Sauvignon that spent 20-22 months in 80% new French oak. Black currants, crushed rocks, graphite, and lead pencil notes all flow to a powerful, tight, backward Cabernet that has incredible minerality and depth. It’s in a much more austere, focused style compared to the Fairchild G-III release, but it’s unquestionably at the same level of quality.
Drink 2023-2043.

96+ PTS ~ Robert Parker WA

The deep garnet-black colored Fairchild 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Sigaro opens with somewhat shy notes of warm black currants, dried mulberries and wild blueberries with hints of plum pudding, spice box, cardamom, wood smoke, black pepper and hoisin. Full-bodied and tightly wound in the mouth, the fruit vibrates with compelling energy and a firm frame of ripe, grainy tannins with just enough freshness, finishing long and minerally.
Drink 2024-2050.

2015 Sigaro

97 PTS ~ Robert Parker Wine Advocate

Very deep inky-purple colored, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Sigaro delivers ripe cassis, black plums and fragrant earth notes with touches of bay leaves, mossy bark and tobacco leaf. Medium to full-bodied with a rock-solid frame of wonderfully fine-grained tannins and lovely freshness, it has a great core of vibrant black fruit flavors, finishing long and pure. Drink 2017-2038.

2014 Sigaro

95 PTS ~ ROBERT PARKER JR

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Sigaro comes from a north Lake Hennessey – St. Helena Vineyard planted with Cabernet Sauvignon clones 4 and 7. This is a wine of similar power, richness and texture, but displays slightly more minerality, maybe a slighter cooler climate mouthfeel, but that’s splitting hairs. It is a wine of exceptional intensity, low acidity, ripe tannin, and a long finish, with plenty of blackberry, charcoal and white chocolate notes. Drink it over the next 15-20 years. Drink 2017-2036.

2013 Sigaro

96 PTS ~ ROBERT PARKER JR

The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Sigaro is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged in 100% new French oak for 20 months prior to being bottled. This is a beautiful wine, like so many 2013s, with an inky purple color, restrained, but intense and ripe notes of blackberry and cassis, along with licorice, graphite, and loamy, earthy undertones. The wine has fabulous concentration, beautiful purity, adequate acidity and a long, long finish. This is a terrific wine from a vineyard near the Melbury Vineyard of Bond Estates. Drink 2016-2045.

2012 Sigaro

94-96 PTS ~ ROBERT PARKER JR

The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Sigaro is much deeper and more resonant than the 2011. A huge, explosive Cabernet, the 2012 is loaded with class, personality and tons of sheer extract. There is a lot to look forward to here, but readers will have to be patient, as the wine is very compact at this stage. An exotic mélange of dark red fruit, spices and minerals flesh out on the huge, structured finish.
